How we treat

Anaesthesia and multidisciplinary care, tailored to each patient.

Treatments are delivered under intravenous sedation or general anaesthesia. Where TMJ disorders need collaborative input, the team coordinates with specialists from across the multidisciplinary group as required.

  1. 01

    Intravenous (Twilight) Sedation

For TMJ arthroscopy, arthrocentesis, and other minimally invasive procedures where you would prefer to be relaxed but not fully asleep. Administered by a specialist anaesthetist alongside the surgical team in our on-site suite.

  2. 02

    General Anaesthesia

For open joint surgery, total joint replacement, and complex TMJ reconstruction. Performed under the care of a specialist anaesthetist in a fully accredited theatre.

  3. 03

    Multidisciplinary Coordination

Surgeons, physiotherapists, rheumatologists, oral medicine, neurologists, and chronic pain teams contribute as required. The clinic coordinates the right combination of specialists for each TMJ presentation.
