TMJ TREATMENTS
At Auckland TMJ Centre we look after conditions affecting the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), commonly known as the jaw joint. We use minimally invasive techniques where possible, including keyhole (arthroscopic) procedures.
WHAT WE TREAT
TMJ surgery covers the surgical management of disorders of the temporomandibular joint, the small joint that connects your jaw to your skull. Treatments range from minimally invasive joint washout (arthrocentesis) and keyhole arthroscopy through to open joint surgery and custom prosthesis joint replacement, chosen based on the severity of the condition and the response to conservative care.
PROCEDURES
Treatments range from minimally invasive joint washout and keyhole arthroscopy through open joint surgery and custom prosthesis joint replacement. Each has a dedicated page with detail on recovery and what to expect.

Occasionally, prior treatments or surgeries for TMJ disorders may not achieve the desired outcomes. Revision (corrective) surgery may be necessary in some cases. Treatment plans are matched to each patient's specific case.
